Featuring over 50 restaurants, 30 wineries, celebrity cooking demonstrations and the always popular "Battle of the Chefs, " this event will tempt your palate and is sure to please!

Taste of Newark is the ultimate foodie event in Newark! Guests enjoy the culinary delights of more than 50 Newark restaurants accompanied by the finest area wine distributors. The spirit of competition generated among our excellent restaurants will bring our chefs to their highest levels!

Fueling the competition is an “Iron Chef” style Battle of the Chefs! Now in its fifth year, Newark’s best chefs battle for the title of Newark’s Top Chef with one hour to concoct delectable masterpieces from a secret list of ingredients.

October 5, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. Here's your chance to join friends and neighbors in a fun event that benefits Newark's finest. The Main Street Mile was inaugurated in 2007 to support the Newark Police Department, specifically their K9 unit and the Downtown Newark Partnership.

Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treat Main Street
Newark’s 66th annual Halloween Parade followed by Trick-or-Treat Main Street is drawing near. Plan now to be a part of this special Halloween event, complete with marching bands, floats, antique automobiles, costumed characters and much more. The parade begins at Tyre Avenue and Main Street and marches west on Main Street, to College Avenue. See Traffic Detours

Spring Concert Series
Enjoy the fabulous music of local musicians as the City of Newark Parks and Recreation Department, once again hosts, the Spring Concert Series. Concerts will be held Thursday nights 7pm to 8pm during the months of May and June (beginning on May 2 and running through June 20).

2011 Community Day
The City of Newark’s Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with University of Delaware, Christina School District, and the Downtown Newark Partnership host the City’s annual family-friendly fall festival on the University of Delaware Green, which hosts almost 300 vendors and several stages for music and performances.
