Main Street Mile

Here's your chance to join friends and neighbors in a fun event that benefits Newark's finest. The Main Street Mile was inaugurated in 2007 to support the Newark Police Department, specifically their K9 unit and the Downtown Newark Partnership.

This easy, flat course - just 1 mile - begins at the Newark Library and ends at one of Newark's most famous landmarks, the Deer Park Tavern. This is a USAT&F and RRCA sanctioned event.

100% of all profits are donated to the Newark Police K9 program and the Downtown Newark Partnership. In the first 5 years of this race, we've raised over $19,000 to contribute to the training an support of Newark's police dogs. These wonderful animals require an investment of over $15,000 before they are ready to help protect our community.

Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treat Main Street
Newark’s 66th  annual Halloween Parade followed by Trick-or-Treat Main Street is drawing near.  Plan now to be a part of this special Halloween event, complete with marching bands, floats, antique automobiles, costumed characters and much more.  The parade begins at Tyre Avenue and Main Street and marches west on Main Street, to College Avenue.
